These are the worlds that we have made.
The Boys, directed by Rowan Woods

This year, we lose ourselves in the dark heart of incendiary new cinema with a selection of films inspired by Rowan Woods’ seminal Australian classic, The Boys (1998), set to burn its way into the psyche of a new generation.

From the ennui and seething discontent of the Australian heartland, we venture into the Southern Hemisphere’s largest scream-park in New Zealand, an explosive riot in the wake of the Egyptian revolution, and a tale of devastating, unspeakable love. We also celebrate the meditative, experimental new work by one of our favourite Australian filmmakers, Amiel Courtin-Wilson.
