The Tea Bar

Time for a cuppa: the entire deck of PW1 is dedicated to fine teas matched with craft spirits, including a booze-free zone for tea-totallers (sorry) and a gloriously cosy tea lounge (think plump cushions, carpets, ottomans and scintillating chit-chat). Wet your whistle with a tea cocktail from Forty Spotted or keep warm with a hot gin tea from Poltergeist, or enjoy Larson and Thompson’s chai matched with Overeem Port Cask-Matured Single Malt Whisky. While you’re at it, best grab a piping hot samosa from Bismi Kitchen’s nearby food cart.

On the first weekend of the Winter Feast, rock’n’roll tea whiz Hannah Dupree (Storm in a Teacup, Melbourne) treats us to Chinese and Japanese tea ceremonies, and wild-harvested teas from the mountains of Fujian. The following weekend, superstar sommelier James Welsh (Stillwater and Black Cow, Launceston) plays host at the Tea Bar and mixes delicious tea-based drinks perfect for a wintry night. So, have a gab with the experts or get comfy in the lounge. We’ll pop the kettle on.
